Wide-Spread Spectacular Fun at the Annual Events Show

Disclaimer: Everything below is a mix of what I observed and heard during the event. The goal isn’t to pinpoint "who exactly said what," but to share (usually) an outsider's view and overall perspective on these industries. I’m not here to act as a definitive firsthand source—readers should do their own research. I hope this inspires you to attend events, explore new industries, and hear what leaders are presenting. These notes combine my observations with thoughts on how things could run smoother and how ideas connect (IMO). I’m not an expert, you know? Just hanging out in the room with them. Enjoy

It’s the moment I’ve all been waiting for: The Northwest Events Show convention floor day. I love this event - always have ever since a few years ago when I attended this show for the first time and thought “holy sh*t!” what in the world? How is something this epic??? Events ROCK. hahaha.

Why Attend: I want to see how it is this year, mingle, see who I meet, maybe find some partnerships, and gain inspiration. Duh!

Notes from the Event:

Okay, I’m writing this after the event, because I used my notebook to write notes while there (not a laptop). BRO i just wanna write some bullet points both of my after-thoughts AND then some things i wrote while there:

AFTER THOUGHTS

  • I AM NOT HAPPY because it turns out I MISSED THE AFTER PARTY LAST NIGHT I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUTTTT. THEIR WEBSITE’S BOT TOLD ME. This event is having some serious logistical chaos. And how did they have an afterparty and not tell me. Rude. And they didn’t send emails about it. So much. So, I’m sad to have missed that. The ticket is kinda expensive to this thing, so you’re like - what the heck? I wanna make the most of it. But… easier said than done

  • I got myself a bit depressed after-the-fact, too, cause I was the most epic SALESWOMAN OF ALL TIME for OTHER PEOPEL’S COMPANIES. I was running all over this floor enthusiastically hooking up companies, so loving their businesses and venues hahahah. But then I’m lke - wtf? Where is this spark in my own struggling business??? I need to figure out money-making, beyond investments…

    • but, the first step is recognizing the problem

  • This event was extremely fun though and I met a lot of amazing people. A few people invited me to join them at other events and their venues and one woman may be an amazing mentor to me. I want to talk to her more. Her story is WILD (well, her personality is so amazing, so so much of waht she says isi amazing) though I met a lot of amazing people. And had the best random chair massage OF MY LIFE no joke.

    • Oh… and I did see ONE girl who the last tiem I saw her was (i think) my last time ever drinking. Cause I was sober for 8 years, then tried again, and then now its been over 2 years since. So I didn’t say hi to her. Way too embarrassed/speechless. Maybe next year…..

UPON ARRIVAL/WHILE THERE NOTES:
- People talking about last night.  Different shifts and the one with the Sasquatch.  It was closed.  Upstairs in the lodge.  Then clam chowder, but skipped a few things.

  • They started shutting down earlier than expected last night.  It was fun.  The roof one, the Marriott was closed by the time I got there.  It was fun to meet people locally, yummy food.  But the Edgewater was picked over by the time that we got there.

  • She had a few olives.

The food on the ship was good.  Salmon, beef

  • I arrived too late to eat that.

Ready for your meeting? Yeah, floor 2 is more quiet.  Find a nook.  Then just have a checkin.  Then 10:40 main stage, you’re talking.

  • Do you have a band aid?

  • Realized these shoes need socks.

  • OOF thats a bad realization at 8:52 am.

  • BTW who in the world has bandaids on them?  Surprising.

Tonight are awards.  They said they’ll go together.  Ugh I hate doing to things with peopel.  So much to think about and manage others emotions lol. And/or check in about leaving, etc. I just like having my time to myself to do things.

  • This girl is panicking over not knowing where the other venue is tonight, asking her colleague, but its like BRO there are 1,000 peopel here who will know wher either is. Just chill out a bit and trust the process.

Like this morning, I didn’t get coffee cause there are so many coffee providers here and snacks and food trucks and stuff.  Geese.  Worrying isn’t so necessary, right?

TWO people see each other:

  • Hiiiiiii

  • Hiiiii How are you?

  • I’m good.

  • You ready for today?

  • Yes… As soon as I get some coffee.

  • Your left shoe is untied.

  • Okayyy

LOL.

While inside, I saw a lot and literally forgot a hundred times to take pictures. Unreal. This blog is way more casual than most are lately, but its cause I was CHATTING, mingling and connecting businesses with each other hahaha. I was having so much fun being eccentric. One guy told me, I was ‘cooking’ lol. But I was.

Until next time, I wish you the motivation and success to search for opportunities around your area. Search and explore: Who is out there giving talks? There are new things happening all of the time.

Find relatable or interesting topics you like and check them out! Maybe even something hosted at a cool venue, if there’s no other reason to go. Let’s see what you can learn and discover not too far from home. 😊
