Abandoning Ship of Jack & Rose’s Mom’s Mom-Group and the Secret Agent Mans
Disclaimer: Everything below is a mix of what I observed and heard during the event. The goal isn’t to pinpoint "who exactly said what," but to share (usually) an outsider's view and overall perspective on these industries. I’m not here to act as a definitive firsthand source—readers should do their own research. I hope this inspires you to attend events, explore new industries, and hear what leaders are presenting. First things first, today I’ve officially decided to stop going to a moms’ group that meets bi-weekly. In theory, it seems like a good thing to do, but there were too many red flags and enough is enough. My new goal is to stop putting myself in situations where I’m just like being mistreated and putting up with degradation and trying to survive it/sustain it, and like, “prove myself,” hoping things get better. On top of it all… the leader today was talking about her two kids… named JACK and ROSE!?!??! I’m like losing my mind over this in real time. Who names their children Jack and Rose???? Forbidden lovers from the most popular movies ever. Dude. Idk. That was my final straw (and her concern trolling, so many things). So, it’s new to me to like “draw boundaries” and just leave things that are so unclear. But this is a new era. 2026: Time to pick up sticks.
Why Attend: This event was advertised on LinkedIn and sounds super helpful for someone like me, casually dabbling/trying to understand AI without, lke, FORCING IT. The premise is that a non-tech guy will be taught how to build an AI agent in real time, with a timer running, in one hour. I think this will be really useful for me to learn, since I can relate to the non-tech guy… and “agents are the future,” right? I mean apparently, so many companies are using and hiring them. So, I wanna learn more without - just like i said - without forcing it and like torturing myself to study. I usually don’t like online events, but this one seems worth it and a good use of my time. Unlike Jack and Rose’s mom’s clique!!

I’ve been 3 times now, and it just keeps getting worse. I don’t know how to put my finger on it, exactly, but the leader is so manipulative. She’ll compliment me and then degrade me right there. Concern trolling, condescending. It’s like, she enjoys being powerful and “cool” in this setting. I’ll give a few examples
Last time, I was on my computer after the meeting and she was like, “oh are you filling out the paperwork?” i said, no, I’m working on my blog…
What is “the paperwork”? For this group?
This week, I didn’t talk to her for a while but then suddenly right in front of me, she said to someone, “Oh was this snack group 1 or 2’s week?”
What are the snack groups? Am I supposed to be on one?
Then people at my table were asking about my busking and she asked if I’m licensed for it or not. She kept concern trolling me. Then I said that busking is kinda fun cause it cures my loneliness since I don’t drink but it gives me a way to connect with others, especially on the weekend, and she said, “oh yeah, you need to find other things to do” —- ??? idk. Sometihng about that comment was so off, too.
And then the whole talk today was about setting intentions and prayer (and i like prayer, lately i like church! I like the community and authenticity of trying to be a better person), but then the talk today was all about how prayer can be so hard. But then when the speech was over, and we all talked in small tables, she was talking about how prayer is “her favorite thing” and it’s like one way she can “give to others” and help… I’m like, uh? Can’t you give to others and help by being kind to the people right in front of you?
She complimented my skirt but then would put me down like 3 or 4 times right after. Its just so weird. So…
Yesterday, the sleeping solo-preneur, at lunch, said he never puts anything on his calendar that doesn’t rate 9/10 interesting to him. That stuck with me… and so I’m going to try it out… maybe not the 9/10 - that’s a bit high, but I just think this “mom’s group” is so off to me and I don’t want to go anymore. There are good parts to it, but it seems to drain more than fill.
Lately, I’m trying to address and solve the fact that I tend to gravitate/put up with abusive relationships (friendships, romantic, etc) so I want to combat it. This right here seems like a way to do it. Take this off my schedule and keep seeking out communities that uplift me and are a good fit. So, anyway… I left that event early today. Before I get tied into a “group 1 or 2” of snack group and/or need to pay their $100 fee.
And really… how are you naming your sibling children JACK AND ROSE!?!?!? Named after forbidden lovers??? That just blew my mind.
And even the week before, one girl said I should put ads on my blog to make more revenue, but I just told her, like… I don’t want to promote things I don’t believe in. And just make money for the sake of it. But she dind’t get it. She just thought I should be accepting random ads. She was like, “oh but you can filter which categories of ads are shown” but… no way. I am like, um? No. That’s not what my blog is for.
And one more thing, lately I like Elizabeth April’s videos a lot and she made the point that, like, big changes can’t happen without smaller changes happening first. So lately I’ve been trying to make lots of small changes to get my life on an even better track.
I like my life a lot lately. I’m loving being 100% sober, being so intentional, and even I like how I’m spending my time with busking… everything. I feel like its so full lately (especially since becoming single, again, too). So, I just think it’s going to be fun and interesting to see how these small changes compound and where life is in a few weeks/months/years.

They talk for a while and wait for people to join in. It was cool, too, cause at the beginning I said that I submitted my white house proposal and someone asked if i had a website about it - so i sent over my youtube video. I’ll put it here:
Okay so they’re explaining the rules.
They want to build an agent from scratch, zero framework. What agent does everyone love? Claude Code. So over the next hour, they’re going to build claude code from scratch in python. And this guy is going to do it.
He says it’s like when someone goes behind someone else and puts their arms through the armpits and then does stuff for them. That’s what’s goign on here, he says.
They said they’re doing “this episode,” so what? Is this a podcast?
I asked, and they said, yeah - this is a podcast. LOL. And wow, there are 209 people here! These guys are popular.
They say “agents” feel untouchable when you’re not in this world.
They ask the chat: when you think of “agent” what words do you think of?

uh oh… his video froze. okay its back. nope. The screen froze. Someone wrote RIP stream. He keeps freezing.
Okay, their videos are lagging. LOL and even a guy in his apartment says he’s lagging. So… lol, podcasts. live podcasts.
They just decide to keep going. omg and they say a guy turned off the video - one of their guys working for them just turned off their videos - hahaha omg.
Okay, they say you need to wake up agents. You have to chat with it to wake it up and trigger it. You can give different tools access to your stuff for it to do stuff. This makes an agent.
So now its time for him to create an agent. Start by creating an agent loop (whats that?)
They say to close the side window, drag on a bar, and make your screen bigger. (I would make my screen bigger, but this chat is so funny)
They say you don’t need to know how to code to follow.
which makes me think ofthe fact that “coding” was such a pushed skill lately, but now its apparently almost outdated so quickly.
Omg so now he’s telling them like how to do coding. And they say its goign to open up a different window. and then “open projects.”
but already I’m lost.
oh people in the chat are saying the lag is brutal. ohhh so everyone in the chat is saying this makes it hard to follow cause of the lag. like even the screensharing is lagging.
Cause the stuff they’re talking about isn’t happening in real time.
omg so these guys are trying to figure it out. And now people are just asking for a recording.
They’re trying to solve it with “command E” and they’re wondering if they should keep going or not. and then they said they’ll put it on youtube and they hope that the “live” will get better as they do it.
Okay, yeah, this is so hard to watch cause liek everything they’re doing is 30 seconds delayed. The chat is so funny though. but the chat is saying they can’t see the terminal while you do that.
One guy says there is “no lag,” but please explain “why” for each step.
For agents, you have a trigger, a loop, and tools. And right now they just want to work on loops.
yeah this delay is so bad.
They said they just want to make a single function to chat with Open AI’s API for now. And create a dot something file.
IDK, you know what? I think I’m going to drop out of this… right? Or idk… I could listen. I’m sure I’m learning a bit from just listening. Okay.. i’ll stay 5 minutes more and see what I learn and if its not worth it, i’ll go.
They say that an API key is a password for an API and the API is how software talks to each other. SO if you want to interact with how Open AI works, you need to build a tool that talks to it.
You have to have a password that gives you access to the tool, and that’s how they bill you, how much you use it.
It’s just funny cause like this is a video podcast but its lagging and they have their videos off…
Yeah. I think i’m going to go and look out for more similar events, even online events.
Maybe I’ll spend this time looking for other events that are similar. I’m going to leave this event and go do some event-hunting till my next meeting that starts in less than an hour. ✌️
