This event is one they apparently have pretty often (maybe twice a year) but I never attended. I am writing this now, after the event - and it was completely different than I expected it to be. I thoguht itād be somewhat of a speech and then some giveaways - but it was a full fledge shopping spree at no expense to attendees (though - not ANYONE can attend, though - like legit, alsoā¦ if you wanted to go and youāre a hardworkign business woman, youāre invited for real)!!
Why Attend: Dress for Success is made for un-emplyed & under-employed women!! (I looked it up) What are those: Underemployed women are those who are working in positions that do not fully utilize their skills, experience, or education, or who are working fewer hours than they would prefer. This can include women working part-time when they would prefer full-time work, or working in jobs that are below their skill level. THIS IS ME. And Iām tring my best to get there to do the epic things i dream of. And doing it my best possible to not sell out - and then some!

- Iām workign so hard to build my business and future, and even shape the future for everyone, our culture and norms and day to day. Build back a fun childhood and environment and options and businesses for people. I see how we can do it cause Iāve seen it done overseas and i saw it around the USA in my childhood.
My income is very extremely tight, but theres plenty to do that is free and fun here!! so many amazing speeches and events - and some not too expensive that include mealsā¦ you know, breaking even, my investments are standing strong in their fight, truly (not like passive mutual funds that fight against your values in your sleep and make lazy money)ā¦ and then i just invest in my businesses. Every penny is careful and cautious and powerful and influential-y. You know?
I am living in Seattleās almost-poverty at the moment. (THE AVERAGE INCOME HERE IS 120K!!! my income is not even a third of that, not even that cause Iām running a startupā¦ I just break even right now. And everything goes back into my business ). I donāt take any benefits from the government, really - (besides the healthcare is subsidized, but I donāt really see the doctor or have any medications)
And I donāt want to sell out, joining a company or project I see moral issues with. You know? Iām building alternatives as we speak! So it is hard to afford seattle, but there are amazing opportunties here and i try to take them full fledge - attending of all these events and enjoying all there is to offer.
I work as hard as i can and live carefully but balancing health - and trying to keep up with my fashion a bit, too! in my own style - but also - most of my clothes iāve had for like years and years and i donāt often buy new things anymore - cause i haev enough and its great! You know? how much more does someone need to buy - though. I donā thave the most āstaples/professional clothesāā¦
I am putting my money where my mouth is as best as I can. Iām full-fledge, like trying to do this all and make it great. Trying and trying again.
Soā¦ this event, turns out, is for people like me. Iām living hardcore starving-artist style, and hopeful, determined to figure it out.
True to myself and what I always wanted. For a while when I was young, I even wanted to be a preacher š. you know? but then I wasnāt so sure of all of that, but now Iām my own little preacher!! ahh. omg. culty. Letās just talk about fashion. Okay? Move along. THe wardrobe! So, this help in the meantime is incredible. I want to keep giving back to them how I can now, and see how it keeps developing. And really keep encouraging them to have community events. Their next event is giving away refurbished laptops. Crazy. But I may even take them up on itā¦ I can get into it more below.
My fight is to really a fight for a better humanity. I feel so exposed to say that - cuase itās like - āoh yeah! prove it!ā (but I think i could). I to stand up for the enslaved society systems weāre trapped in! lol, not to be too dramatic, but its true. Iām working my best to pull my weight. Especially for children, I want to stand for children to be protected and our system to stop feeding off of their lives - literally. I want us to return back to more natural and truly organic solutions, peacefulness, happiness, calmness. idk!
So, itās hard to figure out how to make TOO much moeny - like enough to pay for everything all at once - with what Iām doing right nowā¦ and if I can get some help with extra shoes and some of these things (cause lately I am truly not buying many clothes and things, Iām being extremely stingy with my spending out of obligation/caution/truly just trying to invest and not waste) - then, this event pops up to help empower entrepreneurial women, struggling but fighting. So. Yeah! I really took it for what it was worth, and got some items Iād typically never get myself - but quite professional/classy. All of it was donated, preworn clothing (but nice!) and then all of the shoes were donated but new! and pretty expensive! but cute for real! shoes iād never get myself though cause theyāre liek so essential youād just hope to magically get them or inherit them or have them passed down or find them at a thrift store. but lately i just donāt even hardly go shopping!!! i just cut it out of my life. so this was an insane surprise! they let you bring home 10 clothing items, 5 shoes ,and 5 accessories. All really helpful for my work now and goals!!)
some nice professional skirts, blouses, shoes, jewelry, scarves (one amazing purple scarf iām sure iāll note in the cold season) - and even two dresses that are basically opposite. one is as sweet as can be - and one will be good for some sorta very confident dance night! lol. for real. and then the blouses and skirts are really a step up and things iād for real never buy myself. all of this was a level up and i tried to stay true to the mission and intention of this club and their goals. etc.
Iād like to help them in the future, too. I think I can give a presentation - and even teach them about linkedy! you know? I think so.
Iāll offer to give a speech. Iāll literally go email them now :)

I even talkedd through this dilemna with Ai, about accepting or not accepting - both - clothes and a laptop.
with myself, iāve reasoned itās like someone investing in my business, no joke. which is cool (and this group knows a semi-decent amount of waht i do, yet they still are really happy to see me. so, iām really like -okay, then letās keep going forward. cause - this is incredible here and you guys are legit helping me!! hahahah and i wanna do the same)
But anway, when I told Ai this all, too, it said that wardrobe is a language - and more clothes gives you more vocabulary
beautifully saidā¦ (but if all your words are out of season, wrong dialect, wrong size, etc - pepole hear yaā talkinā aācrazy) . and now - in certain places, ELEGANCE is my goal. here? is elegance my goal here? in this blog? yes and no. you know? :)
-These new pieces should be great for all of these events Iām attending, just to level up and then keep giving back and hyping up this nonprofit. Theyāre so amazing and legit have helped me so much alreadyā¦ and I want to love things, you know? I want to love what things and people are doing, cheer them on.
So, Iām always so happy to find them doing great events. And I want to cheer them on for the rest of my life, you know? hahha. And/or build alongside them with this same sort of efficiency and kind community building. Itās really fun and nice. It was so fun to try on clothes with others and chat and just sorta, be human/trying our best, and happy!!
And really, this group is for anyone who is just working so hard to step up and level up their career, especially if theyāre underpaid or underworking - like me!!! The more I research them online (versus how Iāve spoken to them IRL) - theyāre even more approachable for like, any super hard working woman who is literally trying her best, you know? So, Iāve met some nice people here and I really want to give back to this group too.
seems they even want more peopel like me in this group - you know, just mega hard working women of all ages - looing to really change and help in their industries!!
I told them Iād send a fashion show of all the outfits I got - so letās 2-for-1 - iāll make a collage below and then thatās that!!
And lately, iāll just note - iāve put a lot more attention into my outfits. Iām just trying to dress to impress myself daily - and follow my mood - but put more intention into it. Just to do it and try. no more covid slumber outfits allowed outsid ethe house - AND iām trying to leave my house moreā¦ so yeah! This helps a lot, too.
Just, I saw it overseas, too - and I think we dont get great examples here of how cute itās possible to dress.
Like yeah, I just saw overseas so many women dressed so adorably, of all ages - not just cute little kids and I was like, what the heck is going on here? Cause we donāt do that in the USA very much. Or at least not in my circles, not like I saw there. But now iām just sorta vibing that, for fun and for an example of waht I saw hahah. And what I want to be/wear!
So Iām taking it upon myself to dress to impress!! as seen in my glossary. So, it was nice to get a lot of staple/nice items here that stay in line with this goal in my time of low cash - but big dreams.
itās helping me feel a bit more confident (lol, geeze - but for real!!)
and they have an event about negotiationing pay!!! which is good, cause legit i wanna try and pitch my other company as a billion dollar company - but i realyl think it can be. soā¦ you know, how do you do that!? hahah. - let them help me!!! and let them be so virtuous as they seem. this is great - you know? hahah. š§āāļø
and its really fun hahaha
and, idk. when you dress well you can really signal a lot. so, its really an exciting relief to get some more clothes and have these fun new options to work with in the land of events + life.
Refurbished Laptop Thoughts
My thoughts on why Iād take a refurbished laptop: itād be amazing to have a refurbished laptop becuase then i can use it for work cause Iām always on the go. Typing nonstop!! And laptops are insanely fragile - and I only have one!!! Lately one of my keys on my keyboard even sticks a lot for a few days at a time then gets back to normal. The āWā keyā¦ which is used like ALL OF THE TIME. So, idk. They sincerely invited me to join, and letās just see how many they have. but for real - stuff like this and charaties sometimes can really get access to SO MUCH STUFF. So, I will think it through. I donāt EXTREMELY need it - but Iād EXTREMELY use it - all of the time. If they wanna invest in a laptop for Kelly Tutors. Thatād be amazing. But others can use it more - but will others show up? And how many do they have? and is it like tehy can just get as many as they need?
seeā¦ this is why i like to follow the money. see.. its easier to play stupid in life, but i do ask these questions and wonder just naturally. then iām like - whatās going onā¦ lemme understand it as best as i can, then let you know!
Again, I feel like itās life opportunities paying me if I choose to take it (like, legit so many jobs pay 100k just for this or that, and iām totally doing this and that, so if this nonprofit i love wants to help me succeed and give me a laptop, i mightā¦.. and i just for real want to figure out how to keep thanking them too and promoting them - haha outside of these blogs, but organically, and hopefulyl my presence is a lot, too. and iāve done a few events with them before. but still - all these clothes + a laptop setps up the bar!!)

- so Iāll ask tehm again a few times - and with this group, I keep proving how hard Iām working, and I advocate for them and really want to see them keep doing more events. Their business model is so genius. You know? They just take in donated clothes and then give them back - and offer all this career advice and get investors and sponsors and stuff. And I really hope my contributions and use of their help is successful and great for all.
WHY? Why do I think it could be?
the ideas here that Iām supporting - with gamestop, amc, bbbyq - etc. Itās literally revolutionizing business for the better. Itās putting ācustomer delightā and companies fighting to one-up each other in epicness, thatās the new norm coming our way. Itās all being put in pieces together.
But I see it - and we need visionaries. Iām so surprised there arenāt more people like me, but they must be in their little niche worlds
and so much that I post is surpressed online haha. you know? so. - i say this cause theirs must be too - and I dont search so much for like, random people anymore - as much as i spend my time just researching the company and hearing from them etc. (but now iām like, hmmm hahah - you know)
So. I hope that this fight is good and I can help make new content, art around the city, cities - PURE/GOOD FOOD & ORGANIC FARM & GROCERY STORE DELIVERY SERVICES - not sketchy ones for real.
Iām so frusterated with learning that everything is corrupt!!! but. letās see how the future goes. Will things turn around? or is this all a trappppppp. oof. I just saw that on twitter today -someone was like, āall you guys are walking into a trap, you knowā
Iāve thought about this, too. Is there good and evil? Canāt there be this united work and epicness over likeā¦ changing things - iām like rolling my eyes - hello!!! natural solutions. Freaking dandelions the superhero plant that idk how to digest but, it turns out its cancer-curing, etc etc. I mean a thousand things like that, that pharma companies have paid for us not to know and they fill us with this, that, and the other instead and make things illegal/forbidden/taboo - and of course there are extremes.
but HELLO - eyeroll.
so, if we can get back to some common sense and even eco-friendly, economically friendly solutions, etc.
Yeah, man! Iām excited for hte future, so letās see what it hodls.
So, I think groups liek this are excited to empower women like me - who, with this extra help, can keep working hard.
ANd iām excited to wear all these outfits out hahha.

OVERALL EVENT REVIEWS FURTHER ELABORATED:
venue (5/5) - incredible 100% i love the place, the vibe, everything
food (NA) - no food, no problem. it was free and they gave free clothes and more.
speaker content (5/5) - stellar selection for real. incredible.
networking (4/5) - yeah it was so fun to talk to people and see people i knew - but mostly i hung to myself, but it was easier than usual to talk to people too
likeliness to return (2/5) - The only way Iād return to something like this is if I really need (like right now where iām in super lowkey mode. this really was a great addition to my wardrobe and now iām kidna good for a really long time!!! those skirts are great, etc (i didnt put it all up but i got a small pair of pants and a skirt too) so its like, waht else do you need? Soā¦ Iād only go back if I really needed it whenever they have this again - and then also maybe take even less each time - while also thinking of ways to teach the community + give back. Thatās my thinking. But I suggest it for many people. This is an amazing opportunity and gift for everyone in the community. Theyāre a good leader and I am blown away by what Iāve seen from them each time so far hahaha. Not to set the bar too high. So, you know. Letās just keep it going and Iāll try to help, too.
