The Lonely Goldilocks
What if Goldilocks wasn't bad, just neglected?
What if the Bears HELPED her, instead of chasing her away?
What if someone saw you were struggling and HELPED instead of punishing?
Goldilocks lived in a messy house with parents who felt happier when she wasn’t around. Her hair was tangled, her stomach was empty, and she often said, “I have friends!” even when it wasn’t true.

At school, her neighbor Baby Bear was loudly bragging about the upcoming holiday weekend: “My mom’s porridge is the best! And we’re going on a trip!” Goldilocks felt jealous, forgotten, and hungry.

The 3-day weekend arrived, and Goldilocks felt even more stressed. A whole extra day to avoid her house? Uugh.
Goldilocks saw her neighbor’s house and thought of Baby Bear’s happy, bragging voice.
The Bears' cottage always looked cozy. The door was unlocked, too. And no one was home anyway, right? She wanted to see what all the hype was about.

She went inside and saw the famous porridge right there on the table. She took a bite and it WAS truly amazing - even if it was a day or two old... she ate that bowl and all the leftovers in the others. (They’d left out dirty bowls!? Over the holiday?)
After eating, she stood up so quickly, she broke a chair by mistake.
That stressed her out even more, so she lay down on their softest bed. She didn’t mean to cause trouble. She just wanted to rest.

But the Bears hadn’t been too far away from home. The porridge was from earlier that day. It’s why the door was unlocked too.
When they came home from running an errand, they were shocked to find Goldilocks’ uninvited, asleep in Baby Bear’s bed!
But after they looked closer, they realized: “She’s exhausted.” So they let her sleep.
When Goldilocks finally woke up, she whispered, “I’m so sorry,” in shame. The Bears forgave her, and together they tidied up the cottage as they talked.

The Bear family first told her it’s not safe to sleep in a stranger’s bed. Goldilocks nodded and said she understood, but quickly admitted she really didn’t. The Bears explained, “When we’re sleeping is when we should be most protected.”
They next asked if they could help walk her home. And when they arrived, they saw the truth... no attention, no food, no warmth, and no support.

The Bears decided to help Goldilocks’ family. Her parents brushed up their resumes and found jobs at the local café. Goldilocks learned to cook porridge on her own - and to value herself, too. She even fixed Baby Bear’s chair all by herself.
They eventually became best friends and business partners, selling porridge and repairing furniture together.
