Nuclear Fusion Energy Tour, Anotha’ One
Disclaimer: Everything below is a mix of what I observed and heard during the event. The goal isn’t to pinpoint "who exactly said what," but to share (usually) an outsider's view and overall perspective on these industries. I’m not here to act as a definitive firsthand source—readers should do their own research. I hope this inspires you to attend events, explore new industries, and hear what leaders are presenting. These notes combine my observations with thoughts on how things could run smoother and how ideas connect (IMO). I’m not an expert, you know? Just hanging out in the room with them. Enjoy!
Topic: Fusion Energy, Power Plants (?), Research Labs, Science, Testing, WILD!, Lots of Transit,
The pants are back on and we head to another power plant. Well.. actually, that’s a lie. IDK if I saw a powerplant or a research facility last time - but it’s good they’re fact-checking me ahahah and I think I’m going to something similar again. It’s super early in the morning this time, though. So… let’s see if I take better or worse notes at that hour… traveling 1.5 hours to get there. hahah. okay? let’s go!
Why Go: Even though I’ve boycotted pants out of my house (just to clarify for those of you wondering about that first sentence up there) - I think sometihng like this warrants an exception!! Let’s go check out a SECOND nuclear facility - how freaking random and cool and unreal. The last time I went, I had to sign an NDA and couldn’t talk about it. And also, it just was kinda unreal. I won’t even explain why. I can’t - hahaha. But let’s see how this time goes. :)
Overall Event Review: Venue (5/5), Food (3/5), Speaker Content (4/5), Networking (3/5), Likeliness To Return (5/5)
Notes
Wow!! They had no rules and will let me blog anything I want (i mean, they didn’t say that, but they didn’t NOT) hahahah. So… my plan will be to write a second blog and treat it as formally as the other Nuclear Lab I visited. So… let’s just keep this one short and casual… I’ll just put some photos below - and then I’ll make a professional/educationally/informationally-sound blog later for this one toooooo :). Cause in the future I may help them build out content! Mayybee.

Overall Event Review:
Venue (5/5), amazing place and full of memes
Food (3/5), pastries. not super healthy, but i was hungry and happy to be fed.
Speaker Content (4/5), super interesting! and the rest of the staff was fun to talk to on the side, too and get more understanding.
Networking (3/5), yes - i met some people and may even return to work on a project with them?
Likeliness To Return (5/5), right!? Lemme move in hahah. JK. but, it was cool. I’m happy to return and see what else is going on. See if its a fit (even if not, was neat to see!! It was awesome to go to two facilites and see the differences, too. puts it in context).
Until next time, I wish you the motivation and success to search for opportunities around your area. Search and explore: Who is out there giving talks? There are new things happening all of the time.
Find relatable or interesting topics you like and check them out! Maybe even something hosted at a cool venue, if there’s no other reason to go. Let’s see what you can learn and discover not too far from home. 😊
