Hickies for the Bank’s V.P. + Pre-FIFA Economic Rundown (w/ Remote Viewing… 13/16 Accuracy)

Topics: Small Business, Scaling, Funding, Networking, Business, Entrepreneurship

There’s an event hosted by a bank at a venue I’ve never been to, and it sounds interesting enough. Plus, its early in the afternoon, which is really appealing. It doesn’t sound very unique… so part of me really doesn’t have the motivation to go, but I’m sure I’ll end up going anyway and get something out of it. Plus, they’re talking about FIFA, which I’m kinda excited for since I’ve started busking. I think it’ll be a really profitable time.

Why Attend: Like I said, the closer I get to this event… the less I want to attend. Just cause it sounds like a million events I’ve attended in this city about fundraising and money and capital and blah blah. But, I will try out “remote viewing” before the event (since my new schedule is to intentionally “remote view” on Thursdays). and see how much comes true - ontop of ALSO seeing what I learn from this event. And dressing extra feminine compared to usual, and just seeing how that goes. So, you know. There’s just enough reason to go.

PHOTO COLLAGE AND COMMENTARY:

NOTES FROM THE EVENT:
Okay - so I tried to “remote view” before the event and wrote these notes. Like… over 80% came true/almost true….

  • (1) One speaker will be wearing entirely one color outfit.  ✅ (CAME TRUE)

    (2) The speeches will go on long and they’ll leave time for Q&A and do a lot of laughing to themselves.  ✅ (CAME TRUE)

    (3) There will be enough seating but it’ll be a bit awkward with more people to one side than the other.  ✅ (CAME TRUE)

    (4) People will talk a lot about summer and make jokes about how the want to go out of town but won’t cause of FIFA, cancelling usual tip.  ♒️ ( SORTA CAME TRUE, “winter break”)

    (5) The water dispensers will have a lot of ice in it but the is crazy cause its so cold. Outside. ✅ (CAME TRUE)

    (6) There will be someone who brought their service dog.  ✅ (CAME TRUE ALMOST)

    (7)
Not many people will talk to each other in the beginning. 🚫 (NOT TRUE)

    (8) They will have some advice about marketing that make no sense. 🚫 (NOT TRUE)

    (9) The music will be really better than expected. ✅ (CAME TRUE)

    (10) Someone next to me will have their phone not o silent.🚫 (NOT TRUE)

    (11) This will help me figure out ways to run my business but in a pretty obvious way, that will be my big takeaway. ✅ (CAME TRUE)

    (12) Also, I don’t expect to see a collection of people (idk what this means). ✅ (CAME TRUE - I only saw 2 people I knew)

    (13) It will be more informal than expected.  ✅ (CAME TRUE)

    (14) Portions of the food will be circular. ✅ (CAME TRUE)

    (15) The intro speech and introductions will be read off of paper.  And sound real generic. ♒️ ( SORTA CAME TRUE, AT THE END)

    (16) Lots of clapping at this event.  It’ll give off a bit of the vibe of the hunger games audience.  ✅ (CAME TRUE)

Random words: fabric, retreat, heroic, posture, turtleneck, mentality, forego, historic, tremor, Description text goes here

The woman sitting next to me is in FULL head to toe color (dark blue).  And I saw her on the stage at the beginning, so that works for me.  REMOTE VIEWING

  • I’m also blown away that I manifested about the seating being lopsided… the ice water pitchers, AND EVEN SOMEONE BRINGING THEIR DOG!??? NO ONE EVER BRINGS DOGS TO EVENTS HAHAHAH.

    • REMOTE VIEWINGGG

They’re talking about “butter” the dog is 14.   Everyone laughs as he makes the joke that his dog is good at financial advice.

  • This is like the 3rd time people in the audience are erputing laughing in just the intro alone. REMOTE VIEWING

They made the joke about if it’s winter break for you, this is a good time to get out of the house and come to an event like this

  • REMOTE VIEWINGGG. KINDA

Then he says he’s going to pass the baton to a woman speaking.

  • Before this event started, I had a great talk with a woman about how much fun it is to visit Thailand and how to travel long distance on the plane by using a scarf and trying your head to the chair.  She said she may need a scarf for (idk what) and I said, and you never know fi you’ll get a hickie.  And then we laughed and she said she probably won’t, but, then I said you never know!! Hahahah.

  • Then this girl had an amazing app that took a picture of you and then transposed your pic into the outfit of your choice.

FIFA is coming and it’ll continue to prosper all of the businesses here.  SO it’s important o have information around money and what it can do for your business.  How to support the extra income and extra things to come.

The next guy speaking is going to talk about his perspective of the history from the foster school and helping businesses grow.

Good afternoon everyone.  (He holds his hand on his ear) and then they say good afternoon and everyone laughs.

  • Brah… how did I know this event would be a faux-comedy show???

  • Then he says half this audience can give this presentation as well, you can laugh at me)

He jokes that the red tickets everyone got on their way in are for a 100,000 interest free loan?  And then it’s just the drink tickets, he jokes.

  • Everyone is cracking up.

  • Then he says its the last time he’ll get invited.  Everyone laughs. REMOTE VIEWING

Now he says he has a few minutes and many of us know what he’ll be talking about.  We’ve talked about this.  But let’s set a common ground to talk for the rest of the day.

Also the guy with the dog just sat next to me, but then moved to mingle a little. REMOTE VIEWING

  • the fact there is a dog here is WILD. that never happens. in like the 180 events i’ve been to, I think i’ve seen one othe. . at least in a professional setting like this.

He said he’s worked with businesses through dot-com, covid, tjeh Great Recession, different presidencies, mayors, policies.  We’v seen all asorts of ups and downs.

Walk us through the history and insights from owners we’ve worked with.

He wants to do advertising at the end.

People of color are significantly higher than white Americans in the USA and in this state. Typicall double.  Higher in Washington state than across the country.

Tariffs are increasing costs and inflation is above target.  The FED’s index is higher than what the FED target is.  Interest rates will likely hold steady for a while.  The minutes released yesterday said there may even be interest rates, so the cost of borrowing money will be higher.  Which is why the $100,000 loan (everyone laughs) will be… (idk what he said)

Increasing cost pressures.

One lady next to me, the woman in the full-color outfit asked if I’m taking notes on the event.  I said yes.

This dog is just walking around randomly smelling peoples jackets.  And they then come back and sit down by me again.  Lots of peopel sitting to the left side… and actually this place is no where near as packed as the number of seats sold.  I think there are (I’ll count it… cause he’s just talking about interest rates and stuff - 55 people here… 131 sign ups.  See?  Wow!)

Oh, SEEEEEE education is getting more invesmtentand employment and productivity growth liek 6 times more than any other industry.

  • I KNEW IT!!! I predicted this like 5 years ago after I saw how advanced China was in their education.  I was like omg, America is WILDLY behind.  This must grow.

  • INFORMATIOn is also advancing, and finance, retail trade.  REATAIL TRADE!  WOW!

Okay next, tehy’re talking about FIFA.  The FIFA mens’ World Cup.  750,000 visitors over 6 weeks.  The chamber with the FIFA organizing committee has a small business play book.

There will be an increase in pedestrian activity, transit use, hotel demand, and pre-post event crowd movements across Pioneer Square, Downtown, SoDo and the stadium district.

  • My busking will do so great.  Amazing

Your customers Arne’t going to get to you.

  • Hotels and restaurants downtown need to prepare.  It’ll be massive, hundreds of thousands, how do you make them stop?

  • See!?  I’m so glad I’m busking haha.  Its amazing.

Over those 6 weeks, use this as an excuse to get ready for something in the future.  If you can’t take electronic payments now, then use this as an excuse to develop that system.  IT’ll help you further down the road.

Also, they had amazing snacks here which worked out extremely luckily since my fasting starts this early evening.

  • He says this next graphic isn’t what he expected, but its much better so thanks whoever helped him fix it (everyone laughs)

He talks about a guy who said his company refused to go into a recession.

He said when times are good, have cash so that in bad times you can get market share. Acquire businesses and other strategies.  (Makes me think of Ryan Cohen / GameStop!)

  • Think carefully about your market, dont’ be afraid, and when peopel are afraid, move forward.

Now he wants to do his advertisement and it says “QR code” in box but he forgot to include the QR code on his powerpoint.  He said please, I want to connect with you.  He’s on linkedin as well and connect with him if you want student to work with you.  For marketing plan development, financial analysis.

  • I want this!  I totally want this.

  • I will talk to him after and see if I qualify.

A woman asks about getting the student on contract?  He says two ways - thanks to the US Bank and others, it’s essentially free.  Just a nominal cost of 4-5 students with professional advisors work between 100-500 hours, cost-free.  Or maybe $100-500 dollars.

  • If you want them hired directly, graduates work for minimum wage or a bit above.  MBA work at about $35-40/hr.

Wow - that woudl be helpful for me.

Okay - now the woman I had the funny talk with about hickeys is now on stage.  She’s the VP of the bank!!! Hahaha.  Omg and she’s a good sales person cause she don’t at all about her service at all.   That’s hilarious I told her she should get some hickies.  Geeze.

Another guy on stage has amazing AMAZING fashion.  And then another guy on stage was drinking a celsius earlier, align about VC and my friend here (liek this guy I’ve met a few times now and keep running into) he is looking for VC’s so I told him to talk to that guy.
- Oh and one girl in the audience has on teh BEST boots.  THey’re like full calf and tan and then she has black translucent legging/tights on under… it looks so good.  I liek that style A LOT.  I want to copy her.  Lately I feel like my shoes are lame.  Almost all of my shoes.  And I’m really trying to embrace my fashion/femininity lately.

  • Okay so they’re on stage talking bout money and access to capital and blah blah.

The guy who is super fashionable (like he looks 10/10) he works for the government.  Just looks so sharp.  Has a little pocket kerchief and perfect glasses and an amazing suit.  He looks amazing hahahahah.  Okay now he’s talking.

He said last year the Eagles won and this year his local team won here in Seattle, but he’s from Philadelphia.  Everyone is cracking up.  He aid primarily he’s working with business with expansion and staying open and growing.

  • His voice doesn’t match his style.  It’s more friendly and… idk, but its a good think.  If he had a stunner voice too, I’d literally have a crush on this guy hahahah.  Oh and I noticed he has. Wedding ring.  SO yea, mean.  Just saying. Hahahah.

  • I’m sorta bored by this event, but it’s fine and fun enough.

Lots of clapping.

The next guy said he’s from Chicago and a Bears fan (everyone groans) he says he’s a glutton for punishment (and everyone laughs).  He’  go to market organizations to help small and mid-sized businesses of from 0->100M.

They have an 8-week accelerator program for small businesses that aren’t quite ready for fractional components to scale your go-to-market playbook so that you’re able to scale.

  • The emcee talks about the Seahawks and everyone laughs and the guy next to me starts clapping.

Okay this question (they have the questions on the screen for the speakers, with the pictures of the speakers next to the question .lol never seen this).

  • Okay so this guy is a VC - you’ve discussed capital costs wit banks and VCs but more money doesn’t fix a broken sales process.

For a Seattle startup, whats’ the #1 revenue operations action now to ensure they don’t just “scale” their mistakes during the World Cup rush?  (Everyone laughs)

  • Tighten your qualified opportunity.  What does it mean to have a “qualified opportunity” to make sure that you’re not going to go too far outside of your target zone.

  • Often we get excited by the shiny new toy.  But make sure you have a tightening process to understand your target taudience and how to get there right things in place.  Your CRM to track info and know how to hone in on offering your product to your customer, to then be ready for the rush and the scale.

  • With so many holes in your system, you can’t follow up to have longterm revenue.

    • Good point.  How can you do things for longterm.

Emcee: if you had 1,000 customers that flooded in today, does it make you stronger or busier?  If it makes you busier, we have a problem.  Stronger, amazing.

With recent rate stabilization, are you seeing more business owners for revolving lines of credit for inventory spikes or longterm SBA loans to permanent expand their footprint before eh summer.

  • She said businesses are planning and looking to grow.

  • Uncertainty in economy, people aren’t sure what TO do.  Now businesses - food and Bev, transportation, tehy’re wanting short term capital to increase inventory or buy in bulk to gear up.  But also stability in longterm financing request.

Are beautification grants still available?

  • Modernize payment systems for international visitors

  • Prepare storefront and inventory for foot traffic

  • Open the mega-event playbook and identity immediate tasks

  • What are the most crucial “game ready” action items?

Stadium districts are front-row to where the customers are.

The government isn’t just there for your taxes, it has other opportunities for you to be a part of.

  • Contact your city partners.  Look for city planners, economic developers. They’re looking for you, to activate the businesses.  They’re actively working and responsibly for the festivities.

Figure out where the events are.  They’re looking for organizers.

Get creative with your business.  How can you be more interactive?  How can you bring the experience to others?  People in their blocks, in their homes, etc.

  • Makes me think, again, I shoudl be reaching out to schools worldwide and telling them about my classes.

  • Isn’t this something that AI can do? My interns can! I’ll get them going soon. So far I have at least one starting with me.

Involve customers in your planning, and what is the best value you can add to your loyal customers.  That’s the archetype of those who will come to your business.

I’m so tired and I want to leave.  It’s just boring…. And supposed to be more talking for over an hour more.  But, let me stay here a bit longer.  They’re on round 2 of questions.

This guy is talking about how an event came up and this guy had no dog sitter, then he came up with an idea over the weekend, and then literally invented the company: ROVER.  So think about your startups in the room.  You’ll meet customers across the pond who can help you scale.

  • I’ll go get more to drink (la Croix) and some snacks…   Alt-J was playing in the bathroom! LoL.  Nice. I love that band A LOT.

  • REMOTE VIEWING PREDICTION lolll

They’re saying it’s a projected econimca impact of one billion dollars.

Out the window, to the courtyard, next to where I’m sitting, is an AMAZING fire.  An open fire pit that is rectangular. I really want to go sit by that fire.

  • Community business connector (website) to get one-to-one help.  Amazing.

I’d like to get more help with mentorship.  Why not.  For a long time I’ve been really “secrety” about my business - only cause it’s so different than what I’d been building in my past business.  But lately, I’d like to get more help and be more bold in who I am.  And what I’m trying to do.  Especialyl before I move to California.  I want to get more concrete in my business so when I arrive to LA I arrive with strength.

  • This guy says he needs a support group now cause everyone says Super Bowl.  Idk what he’s talking about.

Okay, think about what the difference here is between a “once-in-a-generation” growth opportunity and a passive distrationt hat could ruin their long-term unit economics?

  • Think about what got you to this point?  How do you continue to build for the customer base that got you here  Even after the World Cup is gone, they’ll still be supporting you. Keep that as your base.

I’m so cold btw and I’m cracking up cause I realize that the WALL behind them is a bunch of old school heaters!? Like wall heaters, put decoratively in a bit of a grid.  OMG it’s so funny.  What a funny decoration.

Think about what your business will do to thrive today, tomorrow, and beyond.

  • Put things into place now in a way that won’t distract you.
    - What woudl you need to change/solve if you got 200,000 extra customers.  There are tools to help you get there. Take away bottlenecks.  Start to scale.

Now there are over 35 minutes for Q&A.

  • The first girl to ask a question also asked the first question before and she has two questions.  One about data and wondering if there will be any beautification of downtown Pioneer Square area.

    • Where is the data coming from?  Visit Seattle’s website has all the data analysis and reports and who did it.

Omg the guy who just took his stuff that was near mine, he had the same name as a super popular guy from my high school.  First and last. I haven’t heard that name in a LONG time.  Now I wanna look him up online.  Lol.

I’m just looking online getting distracted seeing if I can do livestream video podcasting on linkedin with my friend to talk about gamestop and stock market transparency.

They’re just making jokes about how they can’t afford tickets to the games so watch parties will be popular.  And lots of jokes.

Right now edtech is really sticky.  How compelling is your offering?  Whatever hte company is, that depends.  I you can see the “aha moment” he can help out.

  • Job creation and workforce development is fundable.

  • brahhhh i do edtech entrepreneurship eduation. am i fundable??

Yeah I had a lot of food.  But of course, they had 130 people sign up - and 50 attend.  So, there’s a LOT of extra food, as you can guess.  I wanna take food to go hahaha. Omg maybe I shoudl stay till the end so I can take food home.  Really.  I know that’s so tacky, but they’d be grateful for the help, hahah right?  But I”m so tired and I just wanna listen to music and play games.

  • The guy who jsut asked a question is so cute too lollll.  Omg.  Kelly.

They’re closing the event panel with some final words.  To summarize, it’s a relationship-based business.  We know people even if we don’t have the answer.  From entrepreneur to bing a VC and now running a venture studio, I may not be writing the checks for your seed round or series A, but I can make the call for another VC who can write your checks.  Same with teh banking and lending community.  Utilize and take advantage of the relationships in the room.  Get info from the individuals who literally wrote hte playbook as it pertains to taking advnatage of the opportunity.  Thank you.

Now they’re gonna close out and let you network.

She says, “this was pretty great, I mean really.  Lot of great info  you met our entire plane..  One other organization not on panel.  The NW Minority Supplier Diversity Council.  Represented by her in teh back

  • Its a woman wearing a face mask and she doesn’t even wave hahahah omg

Then the emcee reads off of a notecard about them, they serve as a resource and host a fe events for networking.  Sponsored by various corporations.  If you’re seeking certification, stop by.

LATER -

Okay - this ended up being the most fun event ever.  They gave to-go boxes just a few minutes into networking. The final networking session AND then a woman who works there talked to me and said this room is available for events.  Lately I really want to get into event hosting and especially want to host a clothing swap.  She said she’d love that and the other girl I was talking to said she’d like to even host it with me.  So we may work on that.

I am leaving this event so happy, with lots of food to take home (and consume AFTER my 27 hour fast) and… yeah. I’m surprised how much fun it ended up being.  I’d love to host an event soon.  And I’m just gonna say this:  networking while sober is totally fun.  It’s so for me! Hahaha   I jsut am really enjoying being 100% sober lately. I feel liek I’m even more likable than ever before.    Even the hickey VP hugged me goodbye, you know?

LOL on my train ride home they announce the next station nd a woman tells a random guy wearing a nice jacket, “your jacket matches your eye” and he goes, “oh, well, that was a happy exit” and she says, “you hve a good night” he goes, ‘you too”
