Social Media Suspension, VC-Cowork, & Re-Pitching

Disclaimer: Everything below is a mix of what I observed and heard during the event. The goal isn’t to pinpoint "who exactly said what," but to share (usually) an outsider's view and overall perspective on these industries. I’m not here to act as a definitive firsthand source—readers should do their own research. I hope this inspires you to attend events, explore new industries, and hear what leaders are presenting. These notes combine my observations with thoughts on how things could run smoother and how ideas connect (IMO). I’m not an expert, you know? Just hanging out in the room with them. Enjoy!

Topics: Prioritizing Time, Energy Preservation, Project Management, Goal Setting, Mental Health, Wealth, Autonomy, Digital Presence

Social media? You’re suspended here, courtesy of Kelly Tutors. Why? It is wasting my energy, And my ‘missions accomplished’ = plenty so far. It doesn’t serve much purpose anymore these days. I connected with amazing people, had my thesis’ heard, found amazing opportunities… but now the tasks are compiling - and I can catch up later, with my fresh perspective :) For now, i have clear work to do (and a co-working event to attend).

Why Attend: I’m taking indefinite months to pour that same time into my own work. I like taking time away from the news (in the past, I’ve done this and cut out all-but-one topic from my world). This time, I will do even more extreme, for the same of time/energy/effort preservation & focus. I have so many dreams and projects to achieve. They’re all coming together. So, I want to pour all of my efforts into those - not websites where others can delete your work anytime. Over it. You are in time-out, social media. Kt.c = where I’ll be.

Notes from the Event:

This event will be broken up into two topics:

  1. Things I’m working on NOW: and lately. The big projects, goals, and sustainability procedures (how to make this last!) Cause it feels like even though I work 7 days a week, I never get it all done… but FOR SURE making progress :)

  2. The Coworking Experience: How was the event? Food? Pitching? Networking :). Working and building - so many things to enjoy.

THINGS I’M WORKING ON NOW:

  • Live Class Ecosystem: my goal is to build this as sorta cyclic as possible. Like a cycle. The plan is that my live classes motivate/fuel content to be made/sold/distributed.

    • The live classes are teaching Ai & Financial Literacy to youth. These classes, I may prep for and turn that prep (and post) into a podcast. The podcast, named: Kelly Tutors Kids Parents Podcast.

    • The live classes definitely will receive a worksheet packet each week. This packet, I’ll then also sell on multiple websites.

    • I believe this system will be really sustainable. Ontop of that, I’ll run my live classes while integrating the KT Motherboard…

  • KT Motherboard: I want my website to host all of the things I need for my class, so it’s easy for me - and also to start pulling together what teachers need to teach classes. This will help with my future projects.

    • My website will have all of the custom resources I’m making for my classes.

      • videos, songs, sound effects, curriculum, schedule, references, etc.

    • Then I’d like to make this platform one that teachers and families can use. Alongside my other business, but we’ll get there.

  • Folklore Rewritten: This is hardly paused right now, as I wait to see if Outschool approves all of my classes it recently took down. This was a blessing in disguise because it pushed me to amp-up all of my classes and totally increase their offerings.

    • So, once they put back all 4 of my books online, I’ll do the next 4. In total, I have 12 books to write… but I think I may even release them on multiple platforms, as like a truth author.

      • Side note, for my other company, we were paying 1k for like 3 or 4 ISBN’s - sometihng like this. But according to Ai, I can be doing this way cheaper. So, I will loko into this, and if its a fraction of the price to ISBN your books and get them online, I may step into that arena.

  • Website Clean Up: because it’d be great for my website to look epic and polished to the level I can deliver if i truly tried.

    • Ai misunderstood me and suggested that I do this and that to my website. It was like, suggesting things that probably these people I respect, like things they’d like to see. So, the way it was all worded, I was like, dang… true!! So, I will dive back into that convo with Ai, and give my website another overview and see where more bridges coudl be build, things can be cleaned up (like the mobile vs. desktop views, etc) and you know, polish this and that

      • for real!! this is why i’m like, bro- no time for social media if we’re being honest, look at this list and it keep on going. i’m thinking to myself, now, like - yeah! see. this is good to have this limitation and break. there’s plent to do, girl!

  • Ace the Interview:

    • This is the last big packet I’d like to make before I go pause these projects and pivot over to other work. This is a class I’ve taught for years, but compiling it into a packet… it will take some thought, intention, and thinking. So… it’s probably last on my list. After that, I feel like it’ll be time to put a new protein as my main course, you know?

    AFTER THIS GROUP OF WORK

    • I’d like to get this website up to the bar I feel it can sit for a while, then jump over to the other projects that are also great. You know? Put wheels back on another one of those cars and see how well it drives :)

    • And there’s a legit scholarly journal I want to write an article for. An article about how society molds us into depressed, lonely, cnfused people. :)

COWORKING EXPERIENCE + Pitch

  • Not bad at all. It was good to have something to do today, and I talked to good company. Even had lunch with a girl who has a lot in comon with me. One thing is she lived in Asia for 4 years and now is trying to build an epic world for socializing, hahah. I told her my idea about “flirty lunches” and how there is a huge need for socializing and people meeting these days.

    • idk if i told yo guys about this here, but it literally generated from one of these blogs and an experience i had a lunch, realizing there is a HUGE market opportunity at “lunchtime” especially in big cities.

  • I don’t want to write much about it, hahaha. Cause I just had a very great time, pitched my company again. Had a big applause, read from a legit script, started with a joke, and feel so welcome in the community. So, I’ll keep building and I’ll be back to work with them soon.

    • I have more notes from the event, but i’ll keep them to myself for now. Maybe one day I’d add them - never say never. :)

OVERALL EVENT REVIEWS ELABORATED:

Venue (3.5/5) - It’s over an hour to get here, but not a big deal - just had me running late. But also, the venue is so cold. Every time I go here, its so freezing. And I need to sincerely remember this. “A jacket” wont’ do it. You need to dress, like, you’re traveling to another state nearby, but with colder weather.

Food (4/5) - they had a lot of food but also it ran out (and they forgot to tell us in the back) so by the time I got there, there was no more salad and all of the potato salad had ran out. But I got some chicken and a biscuit. Then the breakfast was small, just granola bars - and dinner? I think none. So… not bad, good snacks, but not phenominal.

Speaker Content (5/5) - amazing content, amazing feedback, amazing time! i’m always impressed by this place. It’s got great variety and content nonstop.

Networking (4/5) - this event made it easy to meet others - but also be alone easily. But not COMPLETELY anonymous - in the right ways.

Likeliness to Return (5/5) - For sure! :)

Until next time, I wish you the motivation and success to search for opportunities around your area. Search and explore: Who is out there giving talks? There are new things happening all of the time.

Find relatable or interesting topics you like and check them out! Maybe even something hosted at a cool venue, if there’s no other reason to go. Let’s see what you can learn and discover not too far from home. 😊
