The First Fashionable Tour of a (Fission? Fusion?) Powerplant (?)
🤷♀️ ESTIMATED READING TIME: TWELVE MINUTES
Topics: Energy, Nuclear Power, Fusion, Fission, Power Plants, Tours, NDA, Clothing Swaps
wahhhhhhh. hahahahahahah. Do you remember months ago when the guy who runs (or invests in?) the (fission - or fusion?) power plant said he’d offer a tour to anyone interested in the audience? WEll… he followed through on it, invited me - i got confused, signed up for the WRONG TOUR - and now I GET TO GO ON TWO POWER PLANT TOURS OVER FUSION ENERGY WEEK 😂😂😂😂😂 👍. Let’s gooooooooooooo. Literally. 😂. Tonight we go on the wrong tour after stopping by a clothing swap. Ready?
Why Attend: I think i’m going to tour a powerplant tonight? 😂. I’ll show up and find out. but i’m like - uh… wait, really? But, it’s super great to learn about energy. Just yesterday, a flirty lady at my table said that we’ve left the industrial era, the information era, and we’re headed to the energy era. And you know what, I think she is right. If we can unlock some more energy, what does the future hold? (and i even asked her/the table, what would that even look like? 10 years from now in the future we had this abundant energy, waht do you guys think it would look like? but everyone laughed me off and moved on…???? okayyyy - i think it’ll start to look a lot more like these old buildings downtown 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 - gottem. but for real. Let’s begin. (oh- and first i’m stopping by a clothing swappp!! limit 5 items per person).

OH YEAH and you’re not allowed to wear a dress here- at the power plant.
you have to wear pants. so… let the pants returnnnnn :) - these jeans belonged to my late business partner. I think of her almost every day and am so glad we met… cause of these jeans? no - her awesome genes. Hahah. I like to think I inherited her genes (and bravery) with these jeans.
brahhH!! I’ll write about the clothing swap in a sec - but I had to sign an NDA and I’m not allowed to talk about the tour hahahahahah. Ahhhh hahah. I wrote down, “this is one of the coolest things of my life” during it. THIS IS THE FUTURE I WALKED THROUGH hahahahhaa. Omg. It was so cool. I really almost didn’t go cause I had the most trouble getting here, but it ended up being like an enthusasitc blast and I was on tours with councilmen and VC people hahaha. Omg. It was so funny.
Anyway, so they asked that I send them a copy of my blog - then they’ll approve it and even provide OFFICIAL PICTURES hahaha. So… my blog I write about that tour will be my best yet… and by “best” i mean - if my childhood enligh teacher were to look at it, they’d rate it with an A+. You know what I mean. Most are B- hahah. But that one I’m going to write so well. But still my flavor.
So anyway, the clothing swap was an EXTREME success. I got 2 jackets that I really want/needed - cause it’s getting cold FAST. A NEW LAPTOP BAG THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN NEEDING FOR FOREVERRRRRRRRRR. which is great.
And then also two dresses that are really extremely cool. One is super KT style and one is california galore. So, I’m just really happy with my five choices. And I’d donated… a really nice flowery sweatshirt, a copper jacket, some blue jeans, a blue flowery dress (that just didn’t look right on me), and a black skirt. Yeah. I got a light jacket, a flowery dress, another flowery dress, a flowery jacket, and then an amazing bag. I LOVE CLOTHING SWAPS hahaha. Kelly Tutors needs to host one. I can try. or have one in Lake Forest Park maybe.
Anyway. Well. That was a fun tour and now it’ll take me a long time to get home but I was super happy they had dinner at the power plant!! Really good food. Cause really.. I had cookies and blackberries/bluberries (at hte other place) for lunch/breakfast… and now a lot of veggies, meats, lots of good things for dinner. So I’m really happy. I didn’t expect it.
This was a fun day. It’s been a challenge-packed weekend for sure. And tomorrow will be super cool - I join White House OFFICE HOURSSsss hahhaa. And then the next day I do my next nuclear power plant (?) tour and then start the first week of my leadership program. And some more meetings throughout, too.
Every moment is precious these days. It’s part of the good thing about having a kid. You just start to value every moment… and I’d say post-my-trip-to-venice too. That trip changed everything. It’s wild I may move there soon. I’ll even be visiting near back there in a week in a half - even attending an Ai event in venice hahaha. Omg. So, you know. Let hte world be full of surprises. Hopefully/definitely I’ll watch a lot of skateboarding, too. Probably my first day there, I’ll arrive and go straight to watch skateboarding till the event. Why not!! Its the best activity.
OH - and btw, i toured a nuclear powerplant in-the-making (but a fusion research lab, in the meantime… so the title is accurate cause i was like - wait? am i touring a facility for energy of the future? and the answer: yes.)
OVERALL EVENT REVIEW AND REFLECTIONS:
CLOTHING SWAP-
venue (4/5), cool place! had never been. great size for this. but… a bar - lameee. i’m so over alcohol. let’s get more fun places to hang out than alcohol revolvoing.
food (5/5), it was an abundance of amazing food at an event giving away free clothes (swapping, but still) it was great. Could have been healthier, but totally unexpected.
speaker content (5/5), yeah! the rules were simple, the content there was amazing - the selection… and it was just a lot of fun
networking (2/5), eh. not really any reason to meet many people. but sitll fun.
likeliness to return (5/5), 100% - :) of course.
… NUCLEAR POWER PLANT… official fact-checked blog laterrr 😁. cause i’m not allowed to talk about it!!! but the place was great, their food was amazing, networking was neutral/fine, and the content was amazing, and then i’d totally return - they said come again next year. hahaha. i said i want to sooner, but then they said: see you next year. so. okay. see you next year!!
Until next time, I wish you the motivation and success to search for opportunities around your area. Search and explore: Who is out there giving talks? There are new things happening all of the time.
