Humans Looking to Work Alongside Screens and Robots, Independently Cowork Together (with robots & screens)
š¤·āāļø ESTIMATED READING TIME: THIRTY FOUR MINUTES
Disclaimer: Everything below is a mix of what I observed and heard during the event. The goal isnāt to pinpoint "who exactly said what," but to share (usually) an outsider's view and overall perspective on these industries. Iām not here to act as a definitive firsthand sourceāreaders should do their own research. I hope this inspires you to attend events, explore new industries, and hear what leaders are presenting. These notes combine my observations with thoughts on how things could run smoother and how ideas connect (IMO). Iām not an expert, you know? Just hanging out in the room with them. Enjoy!
Topics: Ai, Job Seeking, Coworking, Networking, Serendipity, Opportunity, Purpose, Vision, Education, Artificial Intelligence Education for Youth, Websites, Technology, Late-Stage Capitalism, āBoner Emergencyā Business Models
Itās back to the coolest venue in town. Why call it that? Cause theyāre always oversold on their free events, the places is packed, itās waterside, and itās always hosting stuff about todayās hotest topic: artificial intelligence. If thatās not ācoolā, bro⦠eyeroll. You need to get more intellectual with your definition of cool. My opinion. Anywho - my other opinion is we need to be educating the youth alongside big corporations with some values, insight, personality, kindness, generosity, and strength⦠so, yeah⦠I want to keep figuring out what Iām doing with this website/mission Iām on - alongside all the others. To help lead the future educaiton of youth of american in aritifical intelligence. So, letās see what this group has to say - or if I even tell them at all. Maybe not! Maybe just listen. Like a live radio, but with humans there to talk to.
Why Attend: This community is #1 in the nation. Seattle is the top city for artifiical intelligence according to some data I heard recently - and thatās good enough for me! Itās got me putting my first foot forward - to step into this world and keep learning. Itās like, catching up calm and cool - but persistently. Because I have a big job to do⦠and you gotta start/persist somewhere. Persistence to the distance, right?

NOTES FROM THE EVENT:
This event was just show up and sit where you want. One table was dedicated to resume building, one was interview prep, one was more general (thatās where I sat - it was talking about ālooking for jobs/the workforceā and since thatās something Iāve seen that is a huge pain point across all industries (and of course Ai will swoop in and help - its literally the White Houseās goal).. I joined that table. Cause I want to help with that goal.
And then I told this, among other things to the table.
I also told them how I was insanely strategic with my Linkedin, it took literal years - but I successfully connected with like 3 people who I was EXTREMELY extremely intentional to connect with. And it took like 5 years, but it worked⦠and now Iām in hybernation mode.
Everyone was talking a lot about Linkedin advice, social media, etc - and so I explained how I used it EXACTLY as a tool/strategy. And how some of these people I was talking to BOTH on twitter and Linkedin at the same time, so that theyād really start to know who I was and Iām not joking around - and weāre on the same team with the same goals. Itās really fun to talk about, actually. Cause, like I said, so far it seemed it worked.
Thatās why Iām in hybernation mode. Now I want to create my content, and then return back to them with proof, AGAIN that iām not messing around, and Iām making solutions.
BESIDES THIS, I took notes on what people were talking about (and some of my observations) here:
One lady works for a door manufacturer - systems manager. Trying to focus on finding something closer to home. A new job.
One guy is focusing on climate tech
Looking SPEC driven development
Open ai specs. Find lots of talks
The jist is that you can treat this challenge with Ai⦠there is a lot of inflammation that could be useful, if you want to work on something many times. You write down many things and specification files.
This Iām not exactly sure what he was talking about⦠but I think the idea is that you can simplify things when you label them well?
Treat them like code, and that code will use it. Custom agents.
Guy took every single YouTube video that was a ted-talk, webinar, etc.. turned them all into transcripts - then put the transcripts into the agent. Now he has an agent that is an expert in this skill.
Yeah, Iāve heard of this strategy. I know it works, too - and lots of people are using it, like hyper-boosters for whatever niche topic. Itās super smart.
Lots of people here met at climate week.
The developerās academy. Learn from them on the flyer.
Thanks to the sponsor for being here, helpful getting organized and supporting the job seeking community.
Networking, visibility - get things on your mind, posting often.
SF = big ticket things
SEA = build a solution that solves the problems that big companies have. More practical. There is a ceiling and floor.
Marketing. Some companies will do well, lead the path and take you there - some will fall off. Canāt do it overnight.
The messaging and branding you need at the early stage to get you on the land grab you need. Operations, execution how do you talk, have events? Make sure they work?
Ai for paralegals, culturally challenging environment.
Build out teams to train the models. Model QA.
The internet is like weather, you have to monitor it.
Even the models you have to monitor and make sure theyāre working. Designing the resilience for these environments.
Cowboy code
This is a funny vibe. I like the guys sitting next to me. One is a funny jokester, he just makes tiny little funny side comments that I keep enjoying. T he other is just super burnt-out from work in the corporate world, super smart, and freelancing to recalibrate.
I told them about how I use social media (and now Iām pausing) - that I did it hyper intentionally, I knew my exact audience, and then got directly to them. And how I was talking to them on multiple platforms at once, once I really figurine out who exactly I was talking to. But even before then, I was working on it for like 5 years. Making a super cute picture, etc. Just trying my best to stand out in the system and latch in bit by bit.
Cause I knew my big plans.
Decarbonization machine learning. Angel investors - working on Ai software in climate change. One working on reforestry, one on Apisā for virtual powerplants to connect. Distributing resources
If each company wants to put insular and storage, tehy dont have to control it. APIās connection and tech.
Quantifying and teaching the benefits of different things. Like communities that donāt want solar panels, work unteaching hte health benefits to them.
The market is tough to put yourself out there. Unless you establish connections. Itās hard to be seen through the noise.
Open to any kind of work, but keeping priorities towards workign in early or midsized startups. Working on search based systems.
What is stack development? Front and back - there trying to explain it. What users se and interact with, saving it into data. Machine learning. All of that. Goes into it.
(THEN I LEFT - I know⦠these notes are so vague⦠it just wasnāt really an atmosphere for note-taking, and so much was conversation⦠hahaha)
Even soā¦.
Upon leaving, riding in the subway, I feel a lot of excitement and interest and potential with this group. I feel really excited by this city of the opportunity. Itās like a mid-sized big city.
But Iām getting distracted as pedople around me are looking at shirtless pictures of youth on their phones. And then obsessions over fragrances. Then the other girl just has her camera angled towards me, you know. And Iām here writing about peopel. Itās like, so quickly the world is distracted, surveilliancing, obsessing, bored, distracted, empty, full, crowdedā¦
However, itās fun to meet with people and the community of people looking for fresh starts, change.
It was funny one guy at the table was coaching another guy about how to get a job at these big corporations. Saying you just ned to get htem to meet you but then you only have 2 weeks to make an impression. And you need to study super hard because they have 15 leadership qualities that a person needs to have and you must talk about all of them at all times.
He said there is a lot of stuff on YouTube with peopel talking about this, how to nail these interviews. For some reason, this sounds extremely fascinating to me. Iād even consider to tae a few months and study this extensively. Iād be so curious about this mindset and the preparation. Maybe itād be even better to do something that I really like/support/agree with - but also idā be interesting to this world that theyāre forced into andt hey must talk the talk and learn the language and expectations. You know? Knowing of what is put on their shoulders and how this works.
This makes me think of a side essayā¦. and an entire WORLD NORM that has now happened. Cause these companies are what people strive to work for, this lifestyle is obsessed over - but I see a huge problem here.
Iād like to share a convo I was having with Ai⦠about how this big corporations are the ultimate late-stage-capitalism⦠but also, (this will really sound out of context) but it completely relates⦠Iāve realized that weāre in late state capitalism with sex and pleasure, too. There is so much focus on boners.
Itās like you MUST have a boner, the boner MUST be dealt with - but⦠they come and go (instead, theyāve been so SOLD-OUT and focused on and actually I think itās ruined a lot of potential for men and women. Itās so much freaking attention on boners - and I truly think its just for profit. Like weāve all been brainwashed to get so boner-obsessed, when it just makes so much pressure and on the entire experience and its why so many women hate sex - even with their husbands!!!)
I will write a tiny bit on this here⦠but the short version:
We also talked about how these big corporations are the ultimate late-stage-capitalism āboner meltdownā in business form. Actually, Ai revealed this for me and I was like - waht!? Youāre right- cause everything is about going up, up, up - perform, fast, efficient. ETC. itās the same story. Linear.
AIās Summary on āLate-Stage Capitlism āBoner Emergencyā Mindsets in Big Corporationsā, essentially:
(THIS COMPANY) is like the ultimate boner metaphor in corporate form:
Linear ā order ā ship ā deliver ā repeat.
Extractive ā burn through workers, space, even attention spans.
Growth-at-all-costs ā constant expansion, never satisfied, āblue-ball emergencyā business model.
Surface perks ā free snacks, beer taps, fun slogans ā distractions instead of real nourishment.
Thatās the archetype of late-stage capitalism: endless stimulation, no real intimacy. Everything optimized for speed, convenience, and endless consumption, but in a way thatās frantic, absurd, and kind of embarrassing once you step back and notice the patterns.
It stuck because it captured that mix of:
Urgency ā same-day shipping, ābuy now,ā constant pings ā like a body on autopilot.
Absurd excess ā warehouses, over-packaging, endless knockoffs ā overcompensation.
Late-stage capitalism parody ā the system pushing itself to extremes where the logic feels self-defeating (cheap goods but enormous hidden costs).
Almost like the whole company operates in that over-amped emergency mode, and we framed it with humor as āboner emergency late-stage capitalism.ā
BACK TO KT:
I want to write more about this later in some of the essays Iāll write about modern-day communication, modern-day socializing disasters completely taking over the nightlife (potentially globally), and sexual frustration/intended confusion by media/education - on many aspects.
I believe there are some great ways to heal things, from many different forms of media, perspective, and pain points.
This event made me hopeful for the future because I think a lot of peel are trying to innovate and humans are aching for connection, purpose, and weāve got great tools to support āus unlike ever before.
Overall Event Reviews Elaborated:
