Catching Up After Hosting Events Nonstop
Disclaimer: Everything below is a mix of what I observed and heard during the event. The goal isn’t to pinpoint "who exactly said what," but to share (usually) an outsider's view and overall perspective on these industries. I’m not here to act as a definitive firsthand source—readers should do their own research. I hope this inspires you to attend events, explore new industries, and hear what leaders are presenting. These notes combine my observations with thoughts on how things could run smoother and how ideas connect (IMO). I’m not an expert, you know? Just hanging out in the room with them. Enjoy.
Hello hello hello!!!
This is going to be a short blog because I just… well, have only a few things to write:
I’m a bit burnt out and not in the mood to blog lately. Not even to attend events. Why? Cause I’m lazy - NOOOO. Cause I’m hosting so many events of my own lately, and kicking off so many initiatives.
I just hosted 5 (kinda 6) events last week and got so much amazing feedback. People were saying my events were some of the best they’d been to all week/year - they were super refreshing, authentic, a breath of fresh air.
One event went so well I did it like an encore, again, right after. Like literally.
Some of my events I’ve been asked to host again a few weeks later, for another big conference in town.
So for now, I just don’t feel like I have it in me to write. I’m attending events lately - but not as much, cause I’m working to build a partnership with a local coworking community. Help them kick off their childcare option, get a kids’ business incubator up and running here locally… etc. Also my back has been acting up lately, so I’m in slight pain a lot of the time the past week or so.
So… for now, I just want to keep focusing my energy on these few initiatives and then I really want to write more blogs again in the future when my attention and motivation and energy returns. I love writing blogs and experiencing events, but I think its just my season of being a bit more internal and focusing on my goals and building out programs - a bit more than attending events and writing on them.
I really am excited to get in the mood to write more and such again. Just don’t have it in me at the moment. But all of my events are going even better than expected. Lots of opportunity coming out of them - and glad I’ve got what I’ve done so far. So much foundation building and always excited for MOASS to eventually erupt :)
OH and one more super fun thing - i purchased the leadership position of the “Seattle EdTech Meetup Group” with over 1700 members. So now i’m planning weekly + monthly events for that. I need to find sponsors and teammates for a bunch of these initiatives though, but really putting the pieces into place to keep building epically.
I love this country, i love this city, and i love what i’m building :)
These were some of the events I hosted. It’s just gonna keep growing. And then below that I’ll put some of hte things I’m building.
yeah this one got a lot of attention, new opportunites, and i’ve been asked to give it again in a few weeks - it’ll be my third time giving this talk at that point.
this one was such a hit i’ll start hosting it montly
this one i’m giving again in a month and want to improve the delivery. its kinda the heart and soul of my business
this one went so well that i did an encore right then and there. like i hosted it then was asked to host the exact same event in a bigger room next door to a larger crowd. that was fun, amazing, and cool.
i’ll start hosting something similar to this monthly for the edtech community - and host the same event for venture week at the end of this month.
