What Does a Kid Entrepreneur Actually Do All Day?

When people hear "kid entrepreneur," they usually picture a lemonade stand. Maybe a bake sale.

That's fine. But in my class? We go way beyond that.

Here's what kids in my Entrepreneur Round Table actually work on:

Product creation. We start with an idea -- something the kid is genuinely excited about -- and figure out how to turn it into a real thing. Not a hypothetical business plan. An actual product.

Logo and brand design. Kids learn that how something looks matters. They design logos, pick colors, think about what their brand says about them. This is creative work that also teaches marketing fundamentals.

Packaging. What does the product look like when someone receives it? How do you make unboxing feel special? Kids think through these details because they matter to real customers.

Pricing. This is where math meets the real world. How much did it cost to make? How much should you charge? What's a profit margin? Kids learn financial literacy by actually needing it -- not from a worksheet.

Pitching. Every kid practices explaining their product out loud. Why does it exist? Who's it for? Why should someone buy it? This builds public speaking skills AND business thinking at the same time.

First sales. Some kids in this class actually sell things. To real people. For real money. That experience -- hearing "yes, I'll buy that" -- changes how a kid sees themselves.

Here's my frustration, and the reason I built this class: it's unbelievably easy to learn about dinosaurs, shapes, colors, Pokemon. But actually essential life skills? Financial literacy, entrepreneurship, how money works? We just... don't teach kids that. I think that's ridiculous.

This class is for kids ages 7-12 who have energy, creativity, and ideas. It's a round table format -- small group, collaborative, where kids build alongside other kid entrepreneurs and learn from each other.
